Craig Sports Briefs for Aug. 18, 2014: Moffat County High School girls golf hosting fundraiser
The Moffat County High School girls golf team will host a fundraiser from 8 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Yampa Valley Golf Course.
The event is a clinic open exclusively to females ages 4 to 17.
“There’s always plenty of things for boys, so we wanted to have something for the little girls,” coach Ann Marie Roberts said.
Registration is $20 per person.

Craig Middle School offering parents night
Craig Middle School will host a parents night for those with students participating in fall sports at 7 p.m. Monday in the CMS auditorium.

Parks and Rec basketball registration available
The Craig Parks and Recreation youth basketball season is accepting applicants.
The leagues for third- through sixth-grade boys and girls will begin practices and games starting in October. Registration is open now at the Parks and Recreation office, 300 W. Fourth St. or on the Parks and Rec website, with the deadline Sept. 17.
There will be a mandatory skills days for each age bracket Sept. 22 to 25.

Man dies following medical episode near Wilderness Ranch on Black Mountain
A male in his mid-to-late 60s died Thursday evening after his side-by-side slid off the road on Timberlane Drive on Black Mountain near Wilderness Ranch, according to Moffat County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Chip McIntyre.
