Craig Sheep Wagon Days packs weekend fun

Craig Daily Press Staff Report

Sheep wagons are one of the many displays showcased during Craig Sheep Wagon Days at the Wyman Living History Museum. The event, open to the public this weekend, includes demonstrations, a hay maze, a petting zoo and more.

The 16th annual Craig Sheep Wagon Days will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Wyman Living History Museum.

The free event is a celebration of the agricultural heritage of Northwest Colorado and an educational experience for all regarding the sheep ranching industry. Those in attendance can learn the basics of working with the woolly animals and the many products that can come from them, which local students will learn earlier in the week.

Activities like a tractor pull, petting zoo, blacksmith displays and a hay maze are open to all, as are food and crafts vendors, and the Wild West Weekend sheep-hooking contest will take place from noon to 2 p.m. The event will finish Sunday with some additional tractor pulls and tours.

Some activities are weather pending, and all are subject to change.
