Craig Sea Sharks tear up state meet in Fort Morgan

Swimmers place 14th; team to host state gathering in 2016

Alexa Neton swims strongly at the CSI Seasonal State Meet in Fort Morgan. The Craig Sea Sharks were 14th out of 21 teams, which included the more than 300 total swimmers. The Craig Sea Sharks recently swam at the CSI Seasonal Club Championships in Fort Morgan, placing 14th overall out of 21 teams with 304 total swimmers at the meet.

Among the highlights were Molly Neton taking third place in the 100–yard backstroke among 13- to 14-year old girls, fourth in the 200 backstroke, fifth in 100 butterfly and sixth in the 200 individual medley.

In the girls 18 and under 400 freestyle relay, Kelsey McDiffett, Jaci McDiffett, Alexa Neton and Molly Neton were fourth, while Alexa and Kelsey joined Jade Holman and Megan Neton for a fifth-place ranking in the 12U 200 medley relay.



Among older swimmers, Jacob Briggs was No. 5 in the boys 15-18 100 backstroke, and Jaycee Holman was 10th in the 15-18 girls 100 fly.

Travis LeFevre had his best race in the boys 7-8 25 backstroke, finishing fifth, while his 5-year-old brother, Nathan, was the youngest Sea Shark to attend state, swimming in the 6U 25 freestyle.



The team will have an end-of-season event later this month, as well as a celebration for raising more than $3,000 in a fundraising swim-a-thon.

The Sea Sharks will also host the state meet in summer 2016.
