Craig police make multiple arrests: On the Record — Oct. 4 to 7

Friday, Oct. 4

3:10 a.m. On the 1000 block of West Victory Way, police in Craig responded to a suspicious person/vehicle/article call. A caller reported parties unknown were picking up items. 

9:18 a.m. At Yampa Valley Bank, police in Craig responded to a fraud call. A caller reported a customer’s possible stolen debit card.

12:34 p.m. Near the intersection of the Wickes Avenue and Columbine Apartments, police in Craig responded to an abandoned vehicle call. A community service officer red-tagged a vehicle for removal. 

2:39 p.m. On the 3000 block of Westridge Court, police in Craig responded to a follow up investigation. Craig police said they followed up on a department of human services investigation.

2:43 p.m. On the 600 block of Industrial Avenue, police in Craig responded to a suspicious person/vehicle/article call. Craig police said they acquired some found debit/credit cards and booked them into evidence for safe keeping. 

3:09 p.m. On the 2000 block of West Victory Way, police in Craig responded to an animal complaint. Craig police said a community service officer investigated a dog bite. 

3:26 p.m. On the 2000 block of West Victory Way, police in Craig responded to a theft call. A 36-year-old Craig woman was arrested on a charge of unlawful possession of a controlled substance. 

8:10 p.m. On the 2000 block of West Victory Way, police in Craig responded to a theft call. A male and female were trespassed from the premises. Police in Craig responded to at least two other theft calls Friday.

9:47 p.m. Near the intersection of East Sixth Street and Tucker Street, police in Craig responded to a traffic stop. A 36-year-old Oak Creek man was arrested on charges of unlawful possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

10:07 p.m. Police in Craig responded to a domestic violence call. A 39-year-old Craig man was arrested on charges of tampering with a motor vehicle – domestic violence, harassment – domestic violence, third-degree assault – domestic violence, prohibited used of a weapon, illegal discharge of a firearm, tampering with physical evidence, reckless endangerment, and two counts of child abuse.

According to the Craig Police Department incident log, police responded to at least 46 calls for service Friday.

Saturday, Oct. 5

2:35 a.m. At CAPS, police in Craig responded to a drunk pedestrian call. A caller reported a taxi dropped off an intoxicated male. 

10:21 a.m. On the 400 block of West Sixth Street, police in Craig responded to a theft call. Craig police said a caller reported a stolen propane bottle. Upon investigation, police discovered a friend of the caller took the propane. Police in Craig responded to at least two other theft calls Saturday. 

1:45 p.m. On the 400 block of Center Street, police in Craig responded to a theft call. Craig police said a caller reported a septic tank was stolen, so police continue to investigate. 

1:57 p.m. On the 600 block of Wickes Avenue, police in Craig responded to an animal complaint. Craig police said a caller reported a neighbor was letter their dog run loose, so community service officers continue to investigate.

2:49 p.m. On the 700 block of Yampa Avenue, police in Craig responded to an animal complaint. Craig police said a community service officer impounded a local dog. 

7:27 p.m. Near the intersection of Green Street and West Victory Way, police in Craig responded to a property damage crash call. Craig police said they responded to a two-vehicle accident with no injuries and at least one person was issued a citation. 

10:09 p.m. At a local convenience store, police in Craig made contact with a pedestrian. A 32-year-old Craig woman was arrested on a Craig warrant. 

11:07 p.m. Near the intersection of Finley Lane and West Sixth Street, police in Craig responded to a traffic stop. A 34-year-old Craig man was issued a summons on a charge of suspended insurance. Police in Craig responded to at least four other traffic stops Saturday.

Sunday, Oct. 6 

2:01 a.m. Near the intersection of Colorado Highway 13 and West Third Street, police in Craig responded to a traffic stop. A 28-year-old Aurora man was arrested on charges of speeding, driving under the influence – excessive alcohol content, and driving under the influence. Police in Craig responded to at least five other traffic stops Sunday. 

11:58 p.m. Near the intersection of East Sixth Street, police in Craig responded to a road rage call.

1:34 p.m. Near the intersection of First Street and Cedar Mountain, police in Craig responded to a traffic stop. 

2:36 p.m. On the 1000 block of West Victory Way, police in Craig responded to a power/gas/phone incident. 

7:48 p.m. On the 3000 block of West Sixth Street, police in Craig responded to a fraud call. A caller reported someone used their credit card to make a purchase at a store outside Craig.

Monday, Oct. 7

8:01 a.m. At a local restaurant, police in Craig responded to a stolen vehicle call. A caller reported their vehicle stolen Monday. Police investigated and located the vehicle in Oklahoma Tuesday. 

9:04 a.m. At Victory Motors, police in Craig responded to a fraud call. 

10:32 a.m. On the 800 block of West First Street, police in Craig responded to a civil problem call. A 47-year-old Craig woman was arrested on a charge of violation of a protection order. 

11:20 a.m. At a local restaurant, police in Craig responded to a follow-up investigation.

12:29 p.m. Police in Craig responded to a redacted call. 

1:16 p.m. Police in Craig responded to a child abuse/neglect call. 

2:06 p.m. Near the intersection of Green Street and West Victory Way, police in Craig responded to a property damage crash call.

3:02 p.m. Police in Craig responded to a child abuse/neglect call. 

3:11 p.m. Police in Craig responded to a redacted call. 

4:06 p.m. On the 700 block of East Victory Way, police in Craig responded to a welfare check. 

4:22 p.m. On the 2000 block of West Victory Way, police in Craig responded to a theft call. A 40-year-old Craig man was arrested on charges of theft, two counts of violation of bond conditions, violation of a mandatory protection order, possession of drug paraphernalia. 

5:14 p.m. In the area of City Market and 12th Street, police in Craig responded to a civil problem call. 

7:59 p.m. Near the intersection of Stout Street and West Victory Way, police in Craig responded to a traffic stop. A 25-year-old Craig man was issued a citation on a charge of failure to stop at a traffic control signal and driving while ability impaired. 

8:59 p.m. Near the intersection of West Ninth Street and Finley Lane, police in Craig responded to an animal complaint. 

11:19 p.m. Near the intersection of Seventh Street and City Park, police in Craig responded to a traffic stop. A 35-year-old Craig man was arrested on a charge of crime of violation of a restraining order. A 28-year-old Craig woman was arrested on a charge of driving under restraint – habitual traffic offender, fictitious license plates, failure to present valid insurance, resisting arrest, obstructing a peace officer, and failure to identify.
