Craig Police Department investigates armed robbery
September 11, 2008
Craig — The Craig Police Department is continuing an investigation into an armed robbery that occurred Friday at a local business, Capt. Jerry DeLong said.
The incident was reported to the Police Department about 2:20 p.m.
DeLong said a white male, 20 to 30 years old, entered Price Mine Service, 1665 E. U.S. Highway 40, brandished a weapon and demanded money from an employee.
He fled the scene on foot.
Police officers, Moffat County Sheriff’s Office deputies and a Colorado State Patrol trooper searched for the suspect. Authorities did not find the suspect.
Because the investigation is ongoing, DeLong said police are not commenting on the type of weapon the suspect used in the robbery or the amount of money taken from Price Mine Services.

There were no injuries in the robbery, DeLong said.
It is unclear whether the suspect remains in Craig or Moffat County.
“We’re still investigating it,” the police captain said. “We haven’t formed any factual basis (to determine) if he’s from here or still in the area.”
