Craig officers help man to escape unwanted female attention: On the Record — Dec. 28 through 30

Friday, Dec. 28

4:37 a.m. On the 800 block of Taylor Street, officers with the Craig Police Department responded to a report of yelling. They checked the area found nothing out of the ordinary.

10:43 a.m. On the 400 block of Washington Street, officers received a call alleging harassment. No further information was available about the incident.

3:53 p.m. On the 2300 block of West Victory Way, officers made a traffic stop resulting in the arrest of a 47-year-old Craig woman, who was wanted on two warrants.

4 p.m. At TLC Carpet One, officers responded a report of fraud. Someone reportedly passed bad checks. The incident is being investigated.

Saturday, Dec. 29

6:38 a.m. On the 800 block of Ranney Street, officers responded to a report of harassment. A person was receiving disturbing text messages from a blocked phone number.

8:43 a.m. At the Public Safety Center, officers received information from another agency that a citizen was leaving harassing messages. The person reportedly was unhappy with officers from the Craig Police Department.

2:20 p.m. Near the intersection of Sixth Avenue and Victory Way, officers issued a summons to a man after items fell off his trailer. Traffic was stopped while the items were reloaded.

4:46 p.m. Near the intersection of Sunset Circle and Finley Lane, officers investigated a hit-and-run crash. A black Camaro reportedly hit a Toyota Tundra pickup truck. One of the vehicles left the scene. The incident is under investigation.

9:40 p.m. Near the intersection of West Fourth and Barclay streets, officers made a traffic stop resulting in the arrest of a 27-year-old Brighton man on suspicion of driving under the influence.

10:25 p.m. On the 1100 block of Industrial Avenue, officers responded to a crash resulting in an injury. Someone driving an Isuzu Trooper ran into the back of the old Kmart building. One of the vehicle’s two occupants suffered a broken arm. The crash is under investigation by the Craig Police Department.  

10:31 p.m. On the 1300 block of West Victory Way, officers assisted a person who was receiving threatening text messages. Officers provided some information and advice to the person who felt threatened.

Sunday, Dec. 30

7:02 a.m. In Craig, officers investigated a report of alleged physical domestic violence. The incident is under investigation.

1:21 p.m. Near Dark Horse Liquor, officers intervened to assist a man who was attempting to get away from a woman. Officers helped the man leave the area.

5:56 p.m. At Walmart, officers responded to a suspicious incident. A man thought his car might have been broken into. When he returned to the vehicle after shopping, the door was open. It was not possible to determine if a theft had occurred. The incident is under investigation.

10:24 p.m. At Breeze Street Park, officers made contact with a pedestrian. No report was taken.

11:03 p.m. On the north end of City Park, officers investigated a suspicious vehicle. No report was taken.
