Update: Missing Craig boy found after several days
Editor’s note: JJ Mounce has been located. Just after 6 a.m., his mother sent Craig Press the message, “he is home.” We expect to have a followup story later today.
CRAIG — The parents of a boy missing from Craig since Thursday are asking for help from the community to locate their son.
“Please, please, please, if you see my son JJ please call me or my husband or the Craig Police Department,” Lena Mounce posted on her Facebook page Saturday, Aug. 11.
Her son — Johnathan, or JJ, Mounce — has not returned home or checked in since Thursday. JJ is 13 years old, about five feet tall, with brown, shoulder-length hair and brown eyes.
“As far as I know, initially, he just snuck out but hasn’t been seen since,” Lena said Sunday. “I have been told that his girlfriend could be hiding him, and also that he is possibly in Meeker.”
The Craig Police Department is working on the case. Any with information about JJ’s location is asked to call 970-826-2360.
Lena has a message for her son: “If you see this, please come home, or please call me. I am worried sick about you. Love you my Bubba Magoo, more than you will ever know.”
Craig Press will continue to update this story as more information becomes available.
