The Bulldogs claimed the top team spot Saturday during the Northwest Colorado Championships hosted by Soroco Middle School in Oak Creek. CMS sixth-, seventh- and eighth-graders amassed 239 points during the weekend to place first of eight schools, again picking up numerous individual wins.

First-place honors went to Caden Call, Dylan Zimmerman, Dagan White, Ryan Duzik and Blake Juergens, the Dogs nearly sweeping the weights below 100 pounds and the lighter winners collecting 14 pins among them along the way.

Also winning their brackets were Tyler Fortune, Michael Voloshin — taking his opening fall in a mere six seconds — Daniel Caddy, Kevin Hernandez and Riley Nelson.

Angel Bueno and Kameron Baker each won the silver during the day, while third place went to Logan Montgomery, Anthony Duran, Jeremiah Ziegler, Brock Hartung and Trevor Martinez.
