Craig Middle School girls hoops dominate at districts
Craig Middle School’s girls basketball teams nearly swept the district tournament Saturday in Meeker.
Three of the four Bulldogs hoops squads won the day and district titles to boot at the championship event.
While the eighth-grade B-Team didn’t quite finish with a trophy, the A-Team completed their time in middle school with a pristine record, capping off two straight years undefeated with two district wins of 64-16 against Rangely and a narrower 35-29 versus Meeker.
CMS seventh-graders were 4-0 on the day, as B-Team overtook Meeker 14-8 in the opening round and beat Rangely 40-13. Likewise, A-Team moved swiftly past Steamboat Springs 45-12 and earned their championship against Rangely 28-13.
