Craig man faces drug charges

A Craig man faces a number of drug-related charges after his arrest Tuesday.

Grant Willey, 23, was charged on Friday with possession of less than a gram of a Schedule 2 controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, driving without insurance and proper registration and driving under restraint.

Willey was stopped Tuesday evening for failing to have license plates. When officer Todd Smilanich approached the vehicle, two of the four occupants in the vehicle fled the scene, police said. Smilanich did not pursue the individuals because of protocol and safety reasons.

After searching the car, Smilanich found a pipe, marijuana and marijuana seeds, police said.

Willey is being held in the Moffat County Jail on $5,000 bond.

He is scheduled to appear in County Court on Tuesday.
