A Craig man was arrested early Saturday morning for stealing a pickup.

Zachary Robert Harris, 24, was charged with aggravated motor vehicle theft, criminal mischief and first-degree trespassing.

At around 12:30 a.m. Saturday, Harris allegedly stole a Chevy pickup truck from the 300 Block of Woodbury Drive.

Craig Police Capt. Jerry DeLong said the value of the truck was estimated at $35,000.

DeLong said Harris wrecked the truck in the area of Third and Washington Street.

After Harris wrecked the vehicle police responded and arrested Harris without incident.

Harris did not need medical attention, and was taken directly to the Moffat County Jail.

DeLong said there was “considerable damage to the front passenger side of the vehicle,” and estimated the damages were around $10,000.

DeLong said he was unsure of Harris’ motives.

Harris’ bond was set at $50,000 Tuesday in court.
