Craig Kiwanis Club gave generously during its annual distribution of scholarship money to local students to pursue higher education.
The Craig service group provided $22,000 in giant checks to Moffat County High School graduates past and present during a barbecue at Loudy-Simpson Park.
The funding included several categories, among them the Sarah Fleming Scholarship for $2,000 — provided by Yampa Valley Bank and the Fleming family — which went to MCHS senior Danaka Miller.
A pair of Key Club Scholarships for $2,000 apiece went to seniors Marisol Chaparro and Josefina Kuberry.
In addition to MCHS graduate Caroline Schenck gaining $1,000 as a reapplicant, $1,500 went to current seniors Alyssa LeWarne, Adyson Pankey, Hannah Kilpatrick, Travis LeFevre, Jolene Rhyne, Caitlyn Adams, Wyatt Tucker, Mena Tucker, Tate Green and Callah Caperton.
