Craig health briefs for Feb. 7, 2015: The Memorial Hospital to host quarterly What to Expect presentation
Craig — Expecting moms and dads are invited to The Memorial Hospital from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday for an informational session hosted by TMH physicians.
The session is intended to inform future parents about what to expect when giving birth, and the format will provide an opportunity to ask questions, meet other expecting parents, and tour TMH’s new birthing center.

VNA offers grief support group
The Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association’s Hospice program is hosting a grief education and support group from 4 to 5 p.m. Thursdays through Feb. 26 in the Gold Room at the Craig VNA, 745 Russell Street.

Help is available for health insurance enrollment problems
February 15 is the last day to enroll in health insurance for 2015.

Health Coverage Guides at the Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association will help you determine if you or your family qualify for Medicaid, Child Health Plan Plus or reduced-cost plans through Connect for Colorado.
Not having health insurance in 2015 could result in penalties.

Community CPR and First Aid classes available
The Craig Parks and Recreation department will offer American Red Cross CPR and First Aid classes from 6 to 10 p.m. Feb. 17 through Feb. 19 at City Hall.
CPR and First Aid classes can be scheduled for businesses and other groups upon request and availability of an instructor.
The cost is $80. Certifications are available and course costs includes textbook.

Weigh and Win team challenge under way
Weigh and Win, a community weight loss program, is encouraging groups of four to eight people to pool their weight loss efforts for the chance to win prizes.
The challenge runs Feb. 1 through April 30. Each team member will need to weigh in at least twice at the kiosk located in the lobby of the Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association, 745 Russell Street.
Teams across the state will compete for the most cumulative weight lost and/or most average HEALTHpoints gained. Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams in each category.
