Craig fans of Broncos excited for NFL playoffs
December 27, 2012
Heading into the final week of the season, the Denver Broncos are guaranteed a home playoff game.
Now the question becomes how many can they host?
The 12-3 Broncos have won 10 games in a row and currently sit in the second spot in the AFC playoff picture. With a win they will secure a first-round bye and, with a Houston Texans loss on top of that, they will own home-field advantage through the Super Bowl.
The team's great run and playoff potential — they sit as one of the top three teams to win the Super Bowl in most sports books — has fans from Craig buzzing.
Ron Spencer, who has been a season-ticket holder for almost 20 years, has enjoyed attending the games while the Broncos have been hot and is looking forward to the postseason.
"We seem to be doing pretty good," Spencer said. "I'm excited to see what happens in the coming weeks."

Byron Willems of Craig has been a Broncos fan for most of his life, and feels the difference has been the team's ability to play out an entire game.
"The key this year is the Broncos in the past would find a way to lose to teams they should not lose to," Willems said. "This year Peyton Manning doesn't allow that to happen. He doesn't allow that team to lose focus."
Spencer already has purchased his tickets for playoff games in Denver, and is hoping he will get to watch two. With a Broncos win and Houston loss, he should be in good shape.
"We've already got our playoff tickets ordered," he said. "They'll be coming in the mail pretty soon and we're hoping to go to two games instead of one.”
Both Spencer and Willems have high hopes for the Broncos going forward. They believe it could be a season of destiny for the team which has improved throughout the year.
"I think we have an excellent chance," Spencer said. "All the teams that beat us early in the season we will probably see in the postseason. The team from early season to right now, to me, is night and day. It's a world of difference."
Willems also mentioned he hopes the Broncos can make a run for one of their longest-tenured and best players: cornerback Champ Bailey.
"I really think in my heart, if they win, someone should say something about Champ Bailey," he said. "He's been through so much, played on some horrible teams and always brought that level of professionalism to the Broncos. I hope they win one for him.”
