Craig City Council to consider renaming park, hear presentations
CRAIG — Craig City Council will consider changing the name of Alice Pleasant Park during its regular meeting, set for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28, at Craig City Hall, 300 W. Fourth St.
The proposed name change comes from resident Ida Gordon, who wants City Council to change the name of Alice Pleasant Park to Alice Pleasant/Julia Carpenter Park, in recognition of her aunt, who was a part of the Craig business downtown until she was 101.
The council will also receive presentations from the National Association of Realtors, the Downtown Business Association, Museum of Northwest Colorado and Moffat County Library and, Craig Press.
4:19 a.m. On the 900 block of Industrial Avenue, police in Craig responded to a state parks related incident. Craig police said someone was looking around a business with flashlights, but police found the business secure and no crime had been committed.
