Craig City Council announces interim city manager
At its Tuesday night meeting, Craig City Council unanimously approved a separation agreement with City Manager Jim Ferree and announced an interim manager.
City Finance Director Bruce Nelson will serve as the interim city manager while city council searches for a permanent replacement.
After 18 years with the city, Ferree’s last day is on July 1.
“We believe that this contract contains mutually agreeable conditions with relation to the termination,” City Attorney Sherman Romney said.
Ferree had no comments for the council, other than agreeing that the separation arrangements were consistent with his contract.
Councilmembers did not have much to say either.
Councilman Joe Bird said the separation is consistent with the contract and Tony Bohrer thanked Ferree and Sherman.
“It’s not easy, for sure,” Bohrer said.
Nelson comes into the interim manager position with over 41 years of government experience in multiple communities and has been with Craig for nearly two decades.
He humbly accepted the interim position.
“We just need to keep moving the city,” he said.
