Craig businesses planning to help entertain on 4th of July

Craig — The Fourth of July celebration in Craig will have the center of the city locked down with a parade and barbecue party, but many businesses still plan on being open for the nation’s birthday.

Among restaurants, it will be a mixed bag, with several closing their doors for the day. But one option from every food variety should be available, such as the Tin Cup Grill, Carelli’s Pizzeria & Pasta, Galaxy Chinese Restaurant and Lounge and Fiesta Jalisco, among others.

Liquor stores all plan on operating under normal hours on a day when beer and barbecue are a popular way to celebrate. Most grocery stores also will be open as usual, though residents who hope to grill meat from Brothers Custom Processing should pick it up before Thursday. Brothers will be closed on the Fourth of July.

Yampa Valley Golf Course will be hosting the Firecracker Scramble — an 18-hole, three-person scramble — beginning at 9 a.m., but it also will be open to other players throughout the day.
