Craig briefs: Young Life schedules auction and dinner
Craig — Bear River Young Life, formerly Moffat County Young Life, will host its third annual Sportsmen’s Auction and Dinner at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 29 at the Center of Craig, 601 Yampa Ave.
The auction includes rifles, scopes, several hunts and other hunting needs. Other items include a custom built and installed Jack’s Bumper and a flat-screen television.
The dinner will be pork tenderloin with Village Inn pie for dessert. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the event.

Health, fitness center offers cooking class
Holistic Health & Fitness, 420 Breeze St., is offering a Clean Eating and Cooking Class from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the fitness center. The seminar is an informative class designed to show participants how to plan, shop for and eat clean and healthy meals to better manage weight, resist disease, have more energy and save money. Republicans meet at 6 p.m. today
The Moffat County Republican Central Committee is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. today at the Craig Rural Fire Station. The meeting is open to the public.

Craig Emergency Preparedness Fair
The 2nd annual Community Emergency Preparedness Fair is scheduled for 6 to 7:30 p.m. today at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1295 W. Ninth St.
During the fair, there will be information and demonstrations on:
• Three-month storage plans.
• 72-hour kits.
• Preserving important documents.
• Different ideas on preserving food.
• Basic First Aid and information on H1N1.
Organizers also will give away a 72-hour kit, boxes of water, an emergency crank radio and cans of food.
The event is free and open to the public.

CrimeStoppers seeks burglary information
Law enforcement officials are seeking information about a burglary that occurred roughly three weeks ago, between Sept. 19 and 20 at a home on West Victory Way.
A small safe was removed from the home and forced open in a nearby field, where a .357 handgun was taken.
Law enforcement believe there were several people near the home during the time of the burglary who may have knowledge of the crime.
Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 824-3535. Callers may remain anonymous and be eligible for a cash reward.
Saturday auction to benefit Cory Pike
An auction Saturday at the OP Bar & Grill will benefit Cory Pike, a 2007 Moffat County High School graduate and a Colorado State University student. Pike was diagnosed June 10 with Burkitt’s lymphoma.
