Craig Briefs: VNA preparing to launch program
Aging Well, a program of the Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association, is hosting a six-week workshop, Healthier Living Colorado, that begins Jan. 13. The class provides self-management strategies for those with chronic conditions.
Participants work on goal-setting, positive reinforcement and healthy habits to live a better life, according to a VNA news release.
Those with chronic illness and their loved ones are encouraged to attend.
The classes will take place from 1 to 3:30 p.m. every Thursday at the Northwest Colorado Community Heal-
th Center, 745 Russell St. The cost is $20 for materials.

Libraries set to close Friday
All branches of the Moffat County Libraries will be closed Friday through Sunday in observance of the holiday. Branches are slated to reopen Sunday.

Permit applications focus of meeting
Moffat County will host a public hearing at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in the conference room at the Moffat County Courthouse, 221 W. Victory Way, to approve a revised transport permit application for oversized loads and a proposed resolution adopting the revised transport permit applications.
The meeting was originally set for Dec. 28, but was later rescheduled.
The public, including interested vehicle owners and operators impacted by the permit, may attend and make oral or written comments regarding the proposed resolution. Written comments may be sent to P.O. Box 667, Craig, CO, 81626.

Awareness sessions slated for Jan. 7
Colorado State Parks, in conjunction with the Northwest Colorado Snowmobile Club, will host free Avalanche Awareness sessions Jan. 7 in the auditorium at Moffat County High School.
The sessions are scheduled for 2 and 7 p.m.
A field session will take place at 9 a.m. Jan. 8 at Black Mountain, and will leave from the Freeman Reservoir parking lot.

9:02 a.m. On the 1000 block of Sage Court, community services personnel in Craig responded to a code enforcement call. A resident was issued a verbal warning for a code violation.
