Craig Briefs: VNA hosting Celebration of Life
The annual Hospice Celebration of Life is taking place through the end of December at the Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association’s office in Craig, 745 Russell St. Visitors may join the celebration of a loved one by placing a personalized ornament on the community Celebration of Life Tree in the VNA lobby.
Ornaments and supplies for notation will be provided at no charge. Ornaments may be taken home after the holidays. For more information, call Kathy Darveau at 871-7661.
Library branches to close Thursday
All branches of the Moffat County Libraries will be closed Thursday through Sunday in observance of the holiday.
Branches are slated to reopen Monday. For more information, call the Craig branch at 824-5116.
Newspaper seeking next board members
The Craig Daily Press is seeking three or four people to participate on its next Editorial Board, which begins Jan. 3.
Editorial Board members meet from noon to 1 p.m. Mondays to discuss the newspaper’s opinion pieces for its Wednesday and Saturday editions.
Editorial Board terms last three months. A wide variety of candidates for board positions are desired.

Farewell receptions for CNCC president
The upcoming departure of Colorado Northwest Community College president John Boyd will be marked by two farewell receptions, with one in Craig and another in Rangely.
On Nov. 19, Boyd announced he would leave CNCC to assume the role of president at Mayland Community College in Spruce Pine, N.C.
Boyd assumes his new position Jan. 10.
The Craig reception will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. Jan. 4 at the CNCC’s Bell Tower, 50 College Drive.
The Rangely reception will take place at noon at the Weiss Center Bronco Café, 500 Kennedy Dr.
