Craig briefs: Tickets available for Craig Fire/Rescue event

The 70th annual Craig Fire/Rescue Firefighter’s Ball/Luau is scheduled for 6 p.m. to midnight Saturday at the OP Bar & Grill, 534 E. Victory Way.

Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased from any firefighter or by calling Ashley at the fire station at 824-5914.

All proceeds benefit the Craig Fire/Rescue High School Scholarship Fund.

Early library closures set for Thursday

The Moffat County Libraries will be closing early Thursday. The Craig branch will close at 5 p.m. and the Maybell branch will close at 4 p.m., library officials reported.

Elks Lodge organizing dinner for veterans

The Elks Lodge will host a dinner for all veterans from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Aug. 22 at the lodge, 43 W. Victory Way. The dinner is free to veterans.

Anyone interested needs to RSVP by Aug. 18.

DOW hunter education course starts Aug. 17

The Colorado Division of Wildlife is sponsoring a Hunter Education Course for four nights beginning Aug. 17. Classes will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. at Colorado Northwestern Community College’s Craig campus.

All classes must be attended.

Space is limited, and pre-registration is encouraged.
