Craig briefs: Relay For Life fundraiser today

Sunset Elementary School’s Relay For Life team is having a fundraiser at 5 p.m. today at Vallarta’s Mexican Restaurant, 1111 W. Victory Way. The restaurant will donate 25 percent of the night’s sales back to the team.

Consultant to offer free nutrition event

Holly Calvert, a certified nutrition consultant, presents a free seminar at 6:30 p.m. today at the Holiday Inn of Craig, 300 S. Colo­rado Highway 13. The event is open to the public.

Online chat focuses on economic issues

The Craig Daily Press and Cook Chevrolet, Subaru are hosting an online chat with two area economic experts from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Darcy Trask, director of the Craig/Moffat Economic Development Partnership, and Scott Ford, director of the Routt County Economic Development Cooperative and a regional economist, will answer community questions regarding Moffat County and the Yampa Valley’s current economic state and what they forecast for the future.

Participate in The Longevity Project

The Longevity Project is an annual campaign to help educate readers about what it takes to live a long, fulfilling life in our valley. This year Kevin shares his story of hope and celebration of life with his presentation Cracked, Not Broken as we explore the critical and relevant topic of mental health.

Library board meeting is today

The monthly meeting of the Moffat County Libraries Board of Trustees is at 5:30 p.m. today at the Craig Branch, 570 Green St.

Quilting professional presents at meeting

The Yampa Valley Piecemakers Quilt Guild is scheduled to meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Sunset Meadows I, 633 Ledford St.

Jean Roesler, of Pali­sade, will be the featured speaker.

Roesler has owned two quilt shops in Palisade, has a quilting book to her credit, “Rectangular Quilt Blocks,” and is a founding member of the Colorado Quilting Council.
