Craig briefs: MCHS fall musical audition packets available
Those interested in auditioning for the Moffat County High School fall musical, “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat,” should begin preparing now, school officials said.
Students will need to learn the music featured in the audition packet and memorize a list of colors.
A 32-count dance audition, available on YouTube.com under heidihelene69, will need to be learned, as well.
The auditions will take place Sept. 10 and 11.
Packets are available through MCHS band instructor John Bolton at 824-1196.
‘Cast and Blast’ clinic for women is Saturday
The Colorado Division of Wildlife Women Afield program is sponsoring a “Cast & Blast” clinic for women Saturday in Steamboat Springs. The clinic teaches participants to learn to fly fish and shoot a shotgun.
The clinics are designed for women ages 12 and older.
The clinic runs from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Participants spend the day with Division of Wildlife staff while learning and practicing shooting and fishing techniques. No prior experience or equipment is required. Participants are asked to participate for the entire duration.
The cost is $15 and covers lunch.
Pre-registration is required. No license or previous education is required. Slots are limited. To sign up, or for more information, call the Steamboat DOW office 970-870-2197.
Hunting guides online at DOW’s Web site
Hunters who stalk big game in Western Colorado can find information in the 2009 hunting guides that are now posted on the Colorado Division of Wildlife’s Web site.
The 2009 versions of Big Game Hunting in Northwest Colorado and Big Game Hunting in Southwest Colorado can be found in the “hunting” section at http://wildlife.state.col.us.
Included in the guides are hunting statistics from the 2008 seasons, hunting tips, regulation advisories, important dates, phone numbers for DOW and federal agency offices, descriptions of terrain, hunting outlook information and much more. Information on bear and moose hunting is also available.
