Craig briefs: Mass casualty drill to take place at MCHS

A newly designed mass casualty drill has been scheduled for Thursday at Moffat County High School. The drill will allow for the testing of many community emergency resources and give the Moffat County School District an opportunity to exercise their lockdown procedures and protocols. The district is developing a series of programs and procedures for each school building to maintain the safety and security of all students, staff and public in the event of an emergency.

“It is obvious that we cannot prepare for every emergency situation that may develop, but by practicing basic emergency protocol and getting familiar with handling various scenarios, we will provide our district and community with the confidence needed in a real situation,” according to the MCSD website.

Any questions can be directed to Tom Soos, Moffat County emergency manager, at 970-824-9153.
