Craig briefs: Little Britches rodeo events set for weekend
Moffat County Fairgrounds will host the Little Britches Rodeo Saturday and Sunday, beginning at 9 a.m. each day. Dual Little Britches events take place Saturday morning and afternoon, followed by jackpot team roping at 6 p.m. For more information, call 970-629-3261.
Gardner staffer to host mobile office hours
A regional director for U.S. Sen. Cory Gardner, R-Colo., will hold mobile office hours with listening sessions from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday in Meeker. Mobile office hours provide residents an opportunity to meet with the senator’s staff to seek help with a federal agency or express their views on federal issues currently in front of Congress, according to a news release from Gardner’s office.
The listening hours will take place at the County Administration Building at 200 Main St. in the conference room.
Local restaurants set to raise funds for CASA
Northwest Rocky Mountain Court Appointed Special Advocates works to help abused and neglected children.
The nonprofit is holding a fundraiser at Carelli’s or Mulligan’s from 4 to 8 p.m. June 18.
Both restaurants are donating 10 percent of their proceeds for the night to NWRM CASA. Also, stop by the NWRM CASA table at Whittle the Wood to learn more about what the organization does. Enter a 50/50 drawing to win 50 percent of the cash, or sign up to be a volunteer.
Highway 9 still causing delays during week
Traffic impacts surrounding construction on Colorado Highway 9 can be expected northbound and southbound Monday through Friday during daylight hours. A temporary lane will be in place to detour traffic around construction from mile marker 127 to 128. Speeds will be reduced to 25 mph through the temporary lane. The temporary detour lane is necessary while crews install a wildlife underpass structure and will remain in place until underpass construction is complete. Expect 45 minute delays. Wide loads are restricted to 12 feet.

Moffat County Republicans are hosting a meet and greet with U.S. Senate candidate Jack Graham from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Monday at the Clarion Inn & Suites in Craig.
Newspaper launches new mobile application
The Craig Daily Press launched its new app earlier in April. The app is available for both Apple and Android users.
