Craig briefs: Library renovations begin today
Starting today, the Craig branch of the Moffat County Libraries, 570 Green St., will be undergoing renovations. The renovations will be at the front of the library, library officials said. The library will remain open during the renovations.
“Please be patient during this construction time,” the library stated in a news release, “as we will remain open to accommodate your needs.”

‘Moving Wall’ to visit Montrose on May 14
“The Moving Wall,” a half-size replica of the Washington, DC, Vietnam Veterans Memorial, will be on display at Cerise Park in Montrose, starting May 14.
The display was in Craig in summer 2007.
The Moving Wall be on display in Montrose until 4 p.m. May 18.
“The Moving Wall” has been on display traveling across the United States since October 1983. It was last in Montrose in 1987. This is the only stop “The Moving Wall” will make in Colorado in 2009. “The Moving Wall” exhibit will be open 24 hours a day, May 14 through 18.
An opening ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. May 14, and the closing ceremony will be at 3 p.m. May 18, both at the exhibit area.
A special ceremony to honor Armed Forces Day and acknowledge “The Moving Wall” exhibit will take place at 10 a.m. May 16 in Cerise Park.
The Armed Forces Day ceremony will feature remarks from Lt. Gen. Bruce L. Fister, who is retired from the United States Air Force, special music by a 34-piece trumpet band from the University of Northern Colorado, taps, a flyover and much more. Seating is limited so it is recommended to bring a lawn chair.
Also, no pets, alcohol, smoking or food is permitted in the exhibit area. Additional parking is available May 16 at Russell Stover parking lot (off Rio Grande Avenue) with shuttle service to and from Riverbottom Park and Cerise Park starting at 8:30 a.m.
Tax-deductible donations to assist in bringing “The Moving Wall” to Montrose, may be made payable to Montrose Community Foundation.

5th annual Cinco de Mayo festival Saturday
Integrated Community/Comunidad Integrada will host the Fifth annual Cinco de Mayo celebration from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Wyman Museum, 94350 E. U.S. Highway 40, two miles east of Craig.
The event is open to the public.
Some of the offerings available Saturday are a Mariachi band, food, beer, salsa cook off, piÃ±ata contest, soccer, ice cones, cotton candy and face painting.
