Craig Briefs: Legion bingo slated for Saturday

American Legion Post 62 is hosting bingo Saturday night at the Elks Lodge, 43 W. Victory Way. Doors open at 5 p.m., and games begin at 6:15 p.m. The games are open to the public.

Senate candidate’s wife to appear

Perry Buck, wife of Ken Buck, a Republican U.S. Senate candidate, is scheduled to appear today in Craig.

She will visit with voters at 2 p.m. at the Golden Cavvy, 538 Yampa Ave. The event is open to the public.

Participate in The Longevity Project

The Longevity Project is an annual campaign to help educate readers about what it takes to live a long, fulfilling life in our valley. This year Kevin shares his story of hope and celebration of life with his presentation Cracked, Not Broken as we explore the critical and relevant topic of mental health.

The Flower Mine/Gift Shop is hosting Boxers & Bras for a Cause, which calls for entrants to decorate a bra and/or pair of boxers in the contest to be voted on by the public.

The contest benefits the Moffat County Cancer Society, which assists local families affected by cancer.

The deadline to enter bras and boxers on a hanger is 1:30 p.m. Saturday at The Flower Mine, 410 W. Victory Way.

Then voting will commence with votes costing $2 or more. A silent auction in November will sell the pieces to lucky bidders.

High school seeks photos of veterans

Moffat County High School, in preparation for its annual Veterans Day celebration, is seeking photos of military personnel who are currently serving or have served in the past for a slideshow presentation.

Photos should be e-mailed to with the serviceman’s or veteran’s name, rank and branch of service.

The school also invites veterans to attend the ceremony, which begins at 8 a.m. Nov. 11 in the high school auditorium, 900 Finley Lane.

Any veterans interested in serving on a panel to answer students’ questions are also invited to contact the school.

Workshop for brain injury survivors set

A workshop for brain injury survivors is scheduled to take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at The Center of Craig, 601 Yampa Ave.

The workshop will inform visitors on benefits and programs available to help them find employment.
