Craig briefs: High school pool open for swimming

The Moffat County High School swimming pool is now open for public swimming, according to a news release issued Wednesday.

Lap swimming is available from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday. Open swimming is from 7 to 8:15 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday.

Admission is $3 for adults and $2 for students. Punch and season passes also are available. Call 826-6557.

Bingo scheduled for Saturday night

American Legion Post 62 is scheduled to host bingo at 6:15 p.m. Saturday at the Elks Lodge, 43 W. Victory Way. Doors open at 5 p.m., and games begin at 6:15 p.m.

The event is open to the public.

Chamber selling Crabfest 2009 tickets

Crabfest 2009, an event sponsored and hosted by the Craig Chamber of Commerce, is scheduled for Oct. 24 at the Boys & Girls Club of Craig, 1324 E. U.S. Highway 40.

The event includes a “generous” serving of king crab legs, red potatoes, corn on the cob and herb and cheese biscuits, followed by a “mouth-watering dessert” buffet, the Chamber reported in a news release.

R&R Catering is preparing the dinner. There also will be a cash bar, and a live and silent auction. To top off the night, comedian Troy Baxley will perform.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and dinner is served at 7 p.m. Entertainment begins at 8 p.m.

Tickets are $50 each. Tables of eight cost $350 and tables of 10 are $450. Each table receives a complimentary bottle of wine.
