Activities available for '50 and better'

The Aging Well Program offers an all-day program, “Wellness Wednesdays,” each Wednesday at the American Legion Building (Shadow Mountain Clubhouse) in Craig for adults “50 and better.”

Activities are offered from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. including art, writing and exercise classes. This week’s lunchtime presentation is “Memoirs, Storytelling and Oral Histories,” by Carol Jacobson, Writing Instructor at CNCC. (Lunch will be served.) Participants are asked to register for activities prior to each Wednesday. For more information call the Aging Well information line at 871-7676.

CNCC offers criminal justice courses

Colorado Northwestern Community College announced Monday that the school is now offering criminal justice courses at its Craig campus and Meeker Service Center.

The courses are on the college’s new poly-com system. The system entails an instructor teaching class using a live video feed from a different location, CNCC officials said.

New programs available this fall include industrial electrician, civil engineering technology, horsemanship, horse management, energy and facility management, helicopter flight and massage therapy.
