Craig briefs for Oct. 8

There will be a traffic interruption on Colorado Highway 13 between Baggs, Wyo., and mile marker 22.8 on Thursday.

The interruption is because of an Emert International superload – a vehicle that is 20 feet wide, more than 16 feet tall and 113 feet long – driving down the highway.

CSU-Global Campus, CNCC launch alliance

The alliance recently established between Colorado State University-Global Campus and the Colorado Community College System has been extended to Colorado Northwestern Community College. CSU-Global Campus has teamed up with Colorado community colleges in an effort to give students access to bachelor’s degree completion programs and master’s degrees online.

Representatives from CSU-Global Campus will visit CNCC next week with stops at the Craig and Rangely campuses. On Oct. 16, CSU-Global staff will be in Craig from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Bell Tower Building, Room 201. They will be on the Rangely Campus in the Johnson Building Conference Room A from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 17. Both days are to host events informing the students and community about CSU-Global Campus and its mission of accessible online education.

Representatives also will discuss a Virtual Open House that will open during the Oct. 16 visit to Craig and remain open for two weeks after CSU-Global Campus visits to Craig and Rangely. This is an opportunity to go inside an online class.

Plans are to have a CSU-Global Campus staff member on campus at least once a month for the beginning of this arrangement to guide students through the process.
