Craig briefs for Oct. 4

— Tobacco-free kits for smokers and chewers are available at the Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association’s Craig office, 745 Russell St. The kits promote the Colorado QuitLine and free support from a trained coach, who guides and supports individuals through the quitting process.

Research shows, the VNA contends, that smokers and chewers are seven times more likely to end tobacco habits with the QuitLine than if trying to quit on his or her own.

Four weeks of free nicotine patches – valued at $100 – are available. Nicotine gum is also available.

For more information, call 1-800-QUIT-NOW (784-8669) or the VNA at 871-7664.
