'Oklahoma' to be performed at MCHS
Moffat County High School is presenting Rodgers and Hammersteins musical “Oklahoma!” with four performances – 7 p.m. Nov. 15, 7 p.m. Nov. 16 and 2 and 7 p.m. Nov. 17 – in the Moffat County High School auditorium.
Ticket price is $5 for general admission. MCHS students are admitted free with student ID.
Moffat County Library news
Deadline for the Moffat County Libraries pumpkin-decorating contest is Oct. 30. Contestants can decorate pumpkins, squash and gourds. Decorations only; no carvings. Bring pumpkins to Craig branch at 570 Green St.
Children’s book week is scheduled to be celebrated at the library Nov. 8 during the library’s story time, and there will be stories and activities about the Thanksgiving holiday Nov. 15. Story times are 10 and 11:30 a.m.
Realtors earn awards at meeting
The Craig Association of Realtors held its annual Installation Banquet last month and recognized local Realtors and affiliates for their contributions during the past year.
Donation checks were presented to the Crisis Center of Craig and Horizon Specialized Services from the CARHOF fund. Other awards included special recognition to Sharon Stoddard of Countrywide Home Loans and Moffat County State Bank for CAR Affiliate of the Year. The evening was culminated with the Realtor of the Year Award going to Ernie Allen.
Cancer support group meeting in Steamboat
The Cancer Education Support Group sponsored by the VNA is scheduled to meet at noon Wednesday in the conference room of the Steamboat Springs VNA at 940 Central Park Drive, Suite 101. Note the change in location of this meeting.
This month will be a general support group meeting. Anyone with a diagnosis of cancer as well as his or her friends and family are invited to attend. The Yampa Valley Breast Cancer Coalition will provide lunch. Call Katy Thiel at 871-7628.
Pregnancy Center prepares for event
The Yampa Valley Pregnancy Center will host the 15th Annual Chili Supper & Silent Auction on Friday at the Moffat County Fairgrounds Pavilion. Dinner starts at 6 p.m., and bids must be entered by 7 p.m. for items in the silent auction.
Tickets cost $5 per person, $8 per couple or $16 for a family of four with additional children costing $1 each. Tickets can be pre-purchased at the Pregnancy Center, or at the door.

CNCC to look at licensure program
Mesa State is scheduled to be at Colorado Northwestern Community College’s Craig Campus, at 2 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Nov. 13 to conduct a discussion about the possibility of bringing a four-year elementary teacher licensure program to Craig in partnership with CNCC. The forums will be held at the Bell Tower, in Room 203 for the 2 p.m. meeting and Room 201 for the 6:30 p.m. meeting.
