Maps not sponsored by Chamber

— Liberty Marketing, which produces tourism maps for Moffat County, has claimed to be sponsored by the Craig Chamber of Commerce to garner advertising from local businesses though it has no affiliation.

“This is the second year in a row that we have had this problem,” Chamber Executive Director Christie Currie said. “We have never sponsored them, and told them that we will no longer distribute their map anymore.”

A Liberty Marketing representative said the problem was isolated to one salesperson, who has been reprimanded and told not to claim Chamber sponsorship anymore. The company still plans to distribute around the area without the Chamber.

Mass Marketing, Inc. also prints a tourism map for the area, and assured Currie it would not sell advertising based on Chamber sponsorship. The Chamber plans to continue distribution of their map.

Angler roundtables are public meetings designed to provide people who fish the opportunity to discuss DOW management and ask questions and provide suggestions.

Presentations include changes in regulatory definitions of “bait” and “artificial lures,” an update on Elkhead Reservoir fishing since its reopening, and recent efforts to enhance fisheries and habitat.
