Government holiday closures

All Moffat County government offices will be closed Dec. 24 and 25, as well as Dec. 31 and Jan. 1 for the holiday.
The Moffat County Clerk and Recorder’s Office will be closed from noon to 1:30 p.m. Friday.
All city of Craig government offices will be closed Dec. 24 and 25, as well as Jan. 1. City of Craig government offices will be open Dec. 31, but close early at 3 p.m.
Postal Service in high gear for holiday mail
Monday marked the biggest mail delivery day of the year, according to U.S. Postal Service press release, in which an estimated billion pieces of holiday mail nationwide were delivered.
Colorado postal facilities postmarked more than 5 million cards and letters Monday and handled more than 1.1 million packages.

The Post Office has the following recommendations:
• Today is the deadline for using regular mail to send holiday mail to U.S. destinations for delivery by Christmas.
• Starting Friday, customers should use Express Mail for mailing packages out-of-state and until Saturday for packages going to all destinations for delivery by Christmas.
Fire account set up
First Congregational United Church of Christ has set up a fire “recovery fund account” for Bev Rubley at Bank of the West. Rubley’s business was destroyed in the Country Mall fire in November. Anyone wishing to donate to the fund can go to the bank and ask to have the funds deposited in the account for Bev Rubley.
