Holiday salute to military

The Craig Daily Press is looking for photos of those who have served in the military – currently or in the past – for a holiday salute to appear Christmas day in the paper.

Information with photo should also include name, branch, rank and, if still serving, where he or she is stationed. Brief messages (up to 30 words) also can be part of the format.

Deadline to submit information is 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20.

Last day to sign up for Holiday Tour of Lights

The last day to register your or a friend/neighbor’s house for the Holiday Tour of Lights contest is 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14.

Registration is free of charge.

Contest prizes include: first place $200; second place, $125; third place, $75; and honorable mention, $50. All prize money is donated by Yampa Valley Electric. All winners also receive a 1-year subscription to the Craig Daily Press.

The contest is open to all Craig and Moffat County residents.

Contest judging will occur Dec. 14, 15 and 16, and partipants are asked to keep their lights on from sundown until 11 p.m. on those nights. Judging is based off use of lights, creativity and overall appearance.

Photos of the winning and participating houses will appear in the Christmas Eve edition of the paper.

To register, submit whether it is your home or a friend/neighbor’s home, name, mailing address, physical address, work phone, home phone and directions to the house to be judged.

Concert on Sunday at church

The combined choirs of Yampa Valley Baptist Church, 3900 E. Victory Way, will present a Christmas Cantata entitled “The Greatest Gift” at 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16

Refreshments will be served after the program. Families will receive a scriptures calendar for 2008, and all the children will receive “Goodie Bags.” Everyone is welcome to attend.
