Craig briefs for Dec. 11
December 11, 2008
Local museums have teamed up to provide residents with a tour of Northwest Colorado history.
“Come out and see,” said Nicky Boulger, Wyman Museum office manager. “It will be fun.”
The Parade of Museums kicks off at 8 a.m. Saturday at Wyman Museum, 94350 E. U.S. Highway 40. From there, a bus provided by Craig Christian Church will take participants to Tread of Pioneers Museum in Steamboat Springs. After an hour-long tour of the museum, the bus will take participants to the Hayden Heritage Center, where museum staff will provide a one-hour tour. A light brunch will be served at the museum.
At about 11 a.m., the bus will take participants to the Museum of Northwest Colorado. Entries in a recent gingerbread house contest will be on display and residents can tour the museum’s collections. Oodles of Noodles, a local group, will provide lunch.
The tour wraps up at 2 p.m. at Wyman Museum. There, participants will receive a tour of the museum and can participate in holiday activities at the museum, including children’s crafts and wagon rides. Desserts and hot beverages also will be served at the museum.
Tickets cost $10 each and may be purchased at the Museum of Northwest Colorado, 590 Yampa Ave. Bus seating is limited, but participants may follow the tour in their vehicles.
