Medical foot care clinics offered for older adults
The Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association provides medical foot care clinics for older adults from 8 a.m. to noon every Wednesday at The Journey, 1150 W. Ninth St., and from 9 to 11 a.m. the first three Thursdays of each month at Sunset Meadows I, 633 Ledford St. Clinics include consultation, foot inspections and toenail trim. The copay is $20. Call 970-875-1884 to make an appointment.
Bullying workshop is next week in Steamboat
A bullying prevention workshop is from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. May 9 at The Steamboat Grand in Steamboat Springs. The free presentation for school staff members and officials will cover topics including bullying prevention legislation, best practices, interventions, creating a positive school climate and cyberbullying. Guest speaker Dorothy L. Espelage, Ph.D., is a professor of child development and an associate chairwoman in the Department of Educational Psychology at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
She also is the co-editor of “Handbook of Bullying in Schools: An International Perspective.”
Registration is at 7:30 a.m. on the day of the event, and a continental breakfast and lunch are provided.
