Craig briefs: Craig Clean-Up Days set to begin next weekend

City of Craig’s Solid Waste Department will host Craig Clean-Up Days from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 21 and 22 at the north end of Craig City Park.

Among items accepted in the collection will be used tires and appliances, though the department will not accept these from commercial generators of these.

As part of the day’s effort, Interstate Batteries will collect used auto batteries to recycle and will donate $5 to Relay For Life of Moffat County for each one they receive. For more information, call 970-826-2613.

Yampa Valley Young Professionals have teamed up with the Downtown Business Association to offer a free Yampa Valley Community Dinner to Craig residents from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Alice Pleasant Park in Downtown Craig.

Live entertainment and a cash only beer garden will also be on hand until 9 p.m. The event is part of DBA’s Friday Fest that will feature a farmers market each Friday from 4 to 7 p.m.
