Craig briefs: CNCC’s new president to start work this week
Craig — CRAIG — Colorado Northwestern Community College’s new president, Ronald A. Granger, starts his job today. Granger will assume the presidency of the Rangely and Craig campuses. Former President Russell George retired from CNCC effective June 30.
Moffat County Library to host Olympic event
Join Moffat County Library from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday for the Gold Medal Olympic event at the library. Help the library celebrate the 2016 Olympics in Rio with fun activities for the family. Interactive activities will be on hand, including a soccer ball relay, a bounce ball relay and crafting Olympic torches, to name a few. Prizes will be awarded. Residents encouraged to participate in fair
Moffat County gardeners, weavers, knitters, artists, quilters, cake decorators, photographers, florists and other talented Moffat County residents will have the opportunity to show-off their skills by entering work in the Moffat County Fair. It is free to participate with opportunities to win ribbons and cash prizes. Pavilion youth and open (adult) entries will be accepted from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday and from 8 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the Moffat County Fair Grounds Pavilion. MCHS meet and greet slated for Wednesday
Interim Moffat County High School Principal Craig Crebar and the new MCHS athletics director, Rich Houghton, will meet with the public this week. From 4:30 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the high school, community members can mix and mingle with the high school’s newest leadership. The event will be held on the second floor commons area.
Northwest Colorado Health schedules mixer
Northwest Colorado Health and Craig Chamber of Commerce are hosting a mixer to celebrate National Health Center week. The event will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Northwest Colorado Health, 745 Russell St. The mixer will include food, drinks and door prizes. Tickets for the Rubber Ducky Race, on Aug. 27, also will be available for $10 each. RSVP the Chamber at 970-824-5689.
Young Professionals to host monthly social
Yampa Valley Young Professionals will host its monthly social at 6 p.m. Thursday. August’s social is called “Around Town,” and young pros will do a restaurant crawl, starting at Carelli’s, heading to JW Snacks and ending at The O.P. Bar and Grill. DBA slated to host open mic night Aug. 19
The Downtown Business Association will host an open mic opportunity for community members from 4 to 6 p.m. Aug. 19 in Alice Pleasant Park.
