Colorado Parks and Wildlife is hosting a one-day bow hunter education class from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 10 at Horsethief Canyon state wildlife area near Fruita.

Though not needed to bow hunt in Colorado, participants will receive a bow hunter education card that is accepted in any state where one is required.

Participants must posses a regular hunter education card in order to take the class.

Considered an advanced hunter safety course, topics will include bow hunting strategies, safety and ethics.

Beginner and experienced bow hunters are invited to attend.

The class costs $10, payable the day of the class, and all students must bring a signed consent form. Students 17 years of age and younger must have their consent forms signed by a parent or guardian.

Students are asked to dress for the elements and to bring their own sack lunch. Personal archery equipment is permitted, but CPW also will have archery equipment for students who do not have their own.
