County plans to auction courthouse annex

The Moffat County Courthouse annex could have a new owner next week.

The county is auctioning the building Monday morning after a brief Board of County commissioners meeting.

Commissioners’ assistant Gena Hinkemeyer said that the commissioners meeting, which starts at 8:30 a.m., will be very short.

The annex is at 200 W. Victory Way, directly across from the courthouse.

The building housed a fast food restaurant when it was built in 1976 until the county purchased the building in 1981.

Some county officials, including Hinkemeyer, had their offices in the annex until a few years ago.

The county leased the building to Colorado Northwestern Community College for the past 18 months.

The minimum bid for the property is $252,377.

Moffat County Treasurer Robert Razzano will administer the auction.

“It will be just like a tax sale,” Razzano said.
