Council considers $5,000 budget appropriation
Yampa Valley Partners has been active in Northwest Colorado since 1996 and played a vital role in the creation of the 1997 and 1999 Community Indicators Projects studies focusing on statistics that reflect the quality of life in the Yampa Valley.
To keep the project going, Partners has requested $4,500 to $5,000 from the Craig City Council for general operations.
“In my opinion, it’s probably warranted that we give them financial support,” City Manager Jim Ferree said. Ferree is the city representative on the Yampa Valley Partners Board.
Council is not opposed to the request, but has asked for more information.
At its regular meeting beginning at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, the Craig City Council will hear a report on the Partners budget request to make a more informed decision. The meeting will be held in Council chambers at City Hall.
In other business, the Council will:
Consider renewal of the tavern liquor license for the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4265. There is no information to show cause for denial;
Consider renewal of a retail liquor store license for Dark Horse Discount Liquor requested by Clyde Hettinger.
Consider signing a proclamation for National Business Women’s Week;
Hear a the Craig Police Department report for September, 1999.
Audience members have the opportunity to comment after the regular meeting, city manager, city attorney and Council reports.
