Cory Overton: Trucks bring necessities

To the editor:

To the lady that does not want the trucks going though town, you would not have to back up at the stop light on Yampa Avenue if you stopped your car before the crosswalk, not on it, just like every other town and city in the U.S.

Trucks are the ones that bring in all the goods we need to live. Try to go buy something that was not trucked in. You will save money doing that, because everything is trucked in.

Have you ever seen food places on the truck route? There are no truck drivers there. Truck drivers have to eat, too, but there are no signs on the road that tell which way any of the towns are – like on U.S. Highway 40 – and a lot of drivers are not from here.

And, yes, I do drive trucks in this town, and I do use First Street because I haul HAZMAT, and I do think trucks should use it more.
