Conversation brews with city officials during Craig Press Coffee & a Newspaper
CRAIG — Coffee & a Newspaper, the monthly early-morning community gathering hosted by Craig Press, took place Wednesday, Jan. 9, at Craig’s east Kum & Go.
Craig Press Publisher Renee Campbell, Editor Jim Patterson, and new reporter Clay Thorp were joined by about 15 people for this month’s meeting.
City Manager Peter Brixius was the special guest for January, discussing current events within city government.
Among others attending were Mayor John Ponikvar and Moffat County Sheriff KC Hume.
Coffee & a Newspaper takes place at 7 a.m. the first Wednesday of each month at the east Kum & Go, 700 E. Victory Way.
Everyone is welcome, and coffee and pastries are served.

In an effort to make coal more competitive against natural gas and renewable energy sources, two of the nation’s largest coal companies, Peabody Energy and Arch Coal, have announced that they plan to combine assets in Colorado and Wyoming. Routt County’s Twentymile Mine would be managed under the new joint venture.
