Community thanked for showing support during difficult time

To the Editor:

It is easy to take for granted the family and friends we have, the community we live in and the lives we live.

It wasn’t until March 17 that we realized how quickly everything can change. It was on this day that an avalanche took the life of Dan Ovenden while snowmobiling.

The expressions of sympathy we received from our family, friends and community during this time were truly amazing.

Thank you for sharing in our sorrow and letting us know we were not alone.

We would like to personally thank the Rio Blanco Sheriff’s Department, the search and rescue team, Grant Mortuary, Kirk McKey, all Kiwanis members and the Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 4265.

During a time like this, we realize how much our family, friends and community mean to us. Your kind expressions of sympathy are deeply appreciated and will always be remembered.

The family of Daniel James Ovenden
