CRAIG — An investigation by the Colorado Bureau of Investigation into a fatal Christmas Eve house fire is nearing completion and Craig Police Department Capt. Bill Leonard said Thursday he anticipates releasing findings related to the cause of the deadly blaze next week.

The fire, which started about 10 a.m. Dec. 24 at 1921 Woodland Ave., claimed the life of 3-year-old Lane Ernest Cullen, according to former Moffat County Coroner Kirk McKey.

Leonard added that the fire is believed to have started in the boy’s bedroom, and the child’s death was directly attributable to injuries sustained during the fire.
