Codey: Send a postcard to an eighth-grader from Michigan
Hello, my name is Codey Morey. I have brown hair and brown eyes, and I am a teenager. I like to spend time playing football with my friends, playing on the computer and I like to listen to my CD player. I do not like homework and chores. I also do not like waking up at 6 a.m. to go to school.
I live with my stepmom, dad and 11-year-old sister, and my older stepbrother in Muskegon, Mich. We usually get a lot of snow here, but this year we did not get that much snow. I am in eighth grade at Orchard View Middle School. We have about 700 students here at the middle school. This is a great school district, and we are famous for our football team. We were the state champions two years ago, and we were undefeated. We were very close to being the state champions last year, but we lost on the final game in the playoffs. I hope we make it again, though.
The main reason I am writing to you is to ask you to please put my letter in your newspaper. We are practicing letter writing in Mrs. Dirkse’s language arts class. She thought it might be fun to learn about our country and letter writing. I hope the people of your town will send me a post card of some sort. We are all writing to different places all across the country, and we will be keeping track on this large map of the United States where letters come from.
I thank you for putting my letter in your newspaper. I hope the people in your town write me a post card. I thank you again for putting my letter in your newspaper. I also hope your town has a safe winter.
