What is your job title: Resource paraprofessional

Number of years in profession: Four years

How did you get into this profession?



I wanted to work but wanted to be home when my children were home from school. This was the perfect job. I also like teaching children.

What is the most challenging part of your job?



The most challenging part of my job is the willingness of the students to settle for mediocrity and not aim for excellence.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

The most rewarding part of my job is the look on a student’s face when he/she receives a good grade on a test after he/she has worked hard to learn the material.

Briefly describe your most heartwarming teaching/student experience: My most heartwarming experience is working with a student and watching the light of understanding come on.

What is a teaching tool or method that is unique to you?

I enjoy working one-on-one with the students.

What is one thing about your profession that you wish the public at large understood?

I wished the public realized how much the teachers care about the students. They go above and beyond trying to help students understand and learn.

What are your favorite activities when you are not at school?

I love to read, garden, explore family history and paint. Before we moved to Craig we had horses and I loved riding them.

What do you like most about Craig Middle School?

We have great teachers and staff at the middle school that make it a great place to work.
