City provides fun for everyone
To the Editor,
For a number of years I have had the pleasurable opportunity to be a part of the Craig Parks and Recreation youth programs, as both a coach and referee. Recently the Craig Daily Press reported that state lottery officials had recognized the Parks and Recreation Department as providing outstanding facilities, specifically the Woodbury Park facility.
Anyone who has been involved with this department will report that this recognition is well deserved. Also, having personally resided in several other communities throughout the United states, both metropolitan and rural, I can honestly say that Craig Parks and Recreation’s facilities are certainly among the best that I have ever encountered. Likewise, the variety of youth programs offered by the department and the staff employed by the department are all top notch.
I urge the citizens of Craig to go to these facilities, to use and enjoy them. See for yourself what these recreational opportunities mean to the children. In fact, just next week the city league flag and tackle football teams play their first games of the season. Get out to Woodbury Field Monday through Wednesday at 5:15 p.m., beginning on Sept. 13, and witness something positive in this community.
Kudos to you, Dave Pike, for you and the employees and volunteers of the City of Craig Parks and Recreation Department have done exceptionally well. The children of this city, as well as the entire community, greatly benefit from your efforts.
