Christina Oxley resigns as director of Craig Chamber of Commerce
CRAIG — The board of directors for the Craig Chamber of Commerce announced last week that Executive Director Christina Oxley has resigned from her position following 14 years with the organization.
Board President Amy Updike noted that the board will begin a search for a replacement as soon as possible.
“Chris has worked tirelessly for years to make the chamber a pillar of this community and to make a vibrant place to live and play and conduct business,” Updike said in a news release from the chamber. “From promoting member businesses to assisting tourists to helping run and manage events — such as the State of the Community Dinner, Whittle the Wood, Crabfest, and the Moffat County Fair — her contributions to chamber operations have been numerous and substantial. We are grateful for her service.”
In a Facebook post Thursday evening, Oxley noted her passion for the work.
“Until you’ve spent a day there, you never realize what the chamber and visitor center do for our community. It is truly an asset to all of Moffat County, and it will always be dear to my heart and have my support,” she said.
Oxley also mentioned “a new challenge” and “new chapter” in the post, though she declined to elaborate.
“I am so proud of the programs, products and services we’ve been able to add to benefit members, visitors, and the community. People don’t get better service anywhere,” Oxley said. “I know that whoever steps into this position will take the chamber to greater heights and will have the support of an incredible staff and an active board of directors that is committed to the chamber’s success.”
